Bear watching in wild Carpathia

Romania’s Carpathians hold the largest brown bear population in Europe, alongside lynx, wolves and forests that have never met a chainsaw. From spring to late autumn we take small groups into ranger-led hides, where the forest goes about its evening as if you were not there.

Sightings are never guaranteed; that is rather the point. But patience is usually rewarded, and the walk out under the first stars stays with people longer than any boardroom ever has. Pair it with a manor-house dinner for a wild-to-refined day few destinations can offer.
